ALBERT MARQUET

How can you possibly describe such a talent for life? This is going beyond the simple, and complicated, act of painting. This is transferring into the canvas the air particles which caress the world. It’s a compassionate view of the world, as seen from the eyes of a poet, a philosopher, a writer, a lover, an architect, a believer altogether. We publish the work of Albert Marquet on our pages because we found that Albert Marquet, even if not among the contemporary living artists (this is not the first time we make an exception) is contemporary for the heartbeat, the vibration, the colors that still speak us softly on his behalf. This also a due act for an artist who, for whatever reasons, was not as famous or celebrated as others – less deserving – of his time. We hope to have made Marquet, and our beloved readers, a little gift.
